The "Testing Laboratory" is accredited (certified) by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS). The Certificate
of Accreditation is No. 04.70887.190 dated 19th August, 2004.
The Testing Laboratory at reasonable cost quickly fulfills requests for quality analysis of bunker fuel, lubricating oils, water after oil-water separation and foam-forming liquids for fire-extinguishers.
The "Laboratory" is outfitted with modern equipment, allowing not only routine analysis, but also special analysis of control samples of vessel's equipment working environment.
The "Testing Laboratory" executes such analyses as determination of density, kinematic viscosity and water content,
specialized work such as the determination of sulfur content by X-ray fluorescence, temperatures of combustion and freezing,
breakup, and ash and coke content in used fuels.
The "Testing Laboratory" provides estimation of calorific value, cetane index and fuel odour index. Fuel mixes are checked for their stability and compatibility.
The analysis of lubricating oils used in operations allows the determination of density, kinematic viscosity at 40°C and 100°C, viscosity index, general or remnant alkalinity, acidity, insoluble deposits, water, and temperatures of combustion and freezing.
The contents of oil and oil products in bilge water before and after separation are determined by infra-red spectrometry method.
Quality of foam-formation is determined by the special installation "PENA", developed by the All-Russian Research Institute for Fire Safety Pozhavtomatika of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Highly qualified and certified specialists execute the laboratory work in accordance with GOST or ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards. Employees of the "Testing Laboratory", will draw up competent summaries regarding the results of completed test work on the basis of standard regulations and reject parameters, and provide with recommendations for further activity.
